1943 Caramel Junket Dessert Recipe

You’ve probably heard of the

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!
1943 Caramel Junket Dessert Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Junket tablet
2 cups milk
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup boiling water
Few grains of salt
½ tsp vanilla
Heat milk until lukewarm. Caramelise the sugar, add boiling water, and cook until syrup is reduced to one third cup. cool and add milk to syrup. Powder the junket tablet and dissolve; add to the mixture with salt and vanilla. Turn into a glass dish, stand in a warm put until set, then cool.
