5 Breakfast Recipes in Instant Pot



You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯


But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!


1. Semiya Upma in Instant Pot
Recipe:
Ingredients –
Roasted Semiya – 2 cups
Water – 3 cups
Onion – 1 (medium size)
Green chillies – 3 (slit)
Tomato – 1 ( medium size)
Carrot – 1 ( big)
Frozen Peas – 1/2 cup
Oil – 2 Tablespoons
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 Teaspoon
Ginger (grated) – 1 Teaspoon (or) 1 inch grated ginger
Cashews – few
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 teaspoon

Procedure :
On Saute , add Oil, Mustard seeds , Ginger ,Onions ,Green Chillies,Cashews
then Saute till onions are translucent. Now add , Tomato,Turmeric powder and Saute a minute.
Add Water ,Carrots , Frozen Peas, Salt,Roasted Semiya and Mix Well.
Cancel Saute
Set time :
Pressure Cook ( or ) Manual – 1 minute
Pressure – HIGH
Release – fast Release
Note :
1. Always fast release
2. For perfect semiya use roasted semiya only.

Rava/ Sooji Upma in Instant Pot
Ingredients :
1. Sooji (or) Rava – 1 cup
2. Water – 3 cups
3. Onions – 1 ( small ) cut into slices
4. Green Chilies – 2 ( slit )
5. Frozen Carrots & Peas
6. Oil – 2 Tablespoons
7. Ghee – 2 Tablespoons
8. Channa dal – 2 teaspoons
9. Mustard Seeds – 1 teaspoons
10. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
11. Curry Leaves – few
12. Grated Ginger – 1 teaspoon

Procedure :
1. On Saute , then add Oil & Ghee,
2. Add Channa dal,Cumin Seeds & Mustard Seeds
– When Channa dal turns light brown,
3. Add Ginger, Green Chillies, Curry leaves ,Onion slices, Cashews
– Saute till onions are translucent
4. Add Veggies ( Optional )
– Saute a minute
5. Add Rava and saute a minute
6. Add Water & Salt , mix well
7. Add Extra teaspoon Ghee (Optional)
8. Cancel Saute
9. Close the lid and vent to sealing position
10. Set Time :
Pressure cook (or) Manual – 1 minute
Pressure – HIGH
Release – fast Release ( Pressure may or may not raise )
11. Open the lid and mix well ( can add extra Ghee )

Cracked Wheat Upma in Instant Pot
Ingredients :
chopped Onions – 1
Green Chillies – 2
Oil – 2 Tablespoons
Chana dal – 1 Tablespoon
Split Urad dal – 1 Tablespoon
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 Teaspoon
Ginger chopped – 1 inch
Curry Leaves
Water – 3 Cups
chopped Carrots – 2
Frozen Green Peas – 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Cracked Wheat – 1 & 1/2 cups
Salt
Procedure :
1. On the Saute Mode, add Oil ,Chana dal ,Split Urad dal ,Mustard Seeds ,Cumin Seeds,Ginger chopped ,Curry Leaves
– Saute till Chana dal turns light brown
2. Add chopped Onions ,Green Chillies
3. – Saute till Onions turn Translucent Add
4. add Water , chopped Carrots ,Frozen Green Peas ,Salt to taste.Cracked Wheat
Mix Well
5. Close & Seal
6. Set Time:
Pressure Cook (or) Manual – 3 Minutes
Pressure : HIGH
Release fast
fast Release ,
Open & Mix Well.

Vegetable Quinoa Upma in Instant Pot
Recipe :
Ingredients :
Quinoa – 1 cup
Oil – 2 Tablespoons
Water – 2 cups
Onion – 1 (medium size)
Tomato – 1 (medium size)
Green chillies – 2 (chop)
Ginger – 1 inch (grated)
Curry leaves – few
Cashews – few
Veggies ( chop all veggies into small )
Carrot – 1/4 cup
Frozen Peas – 1/4 cup
Capsicum – 1/4 cup
Beans – 1/4 cup
Mustard seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Salt
Procedure :
On Saute , Add :Oil ,Mustard seeds , Cumin Seeds ,Green chillies , Ginger,Curry leaves
– Saute a minute
Add :
All Veggies ,Water, Salt,Quinoa (washed)
– Mix Well
Cancel Saute
Close the lid and seal
* Pressure cook (or) Manual – 1 minute
Pressure – HIGH
Release – Natural Release (takes 10 minutes)
Open and mix Well
Serve warm

Idli Rava in Instant Pot
Recipe :
Ingredients :

Idli Rava – 1 cup
Water – 2 cups
Moong dal – 1/4 cup
Green chillies – 3-4 ( slit chillies)
Curry leaves
Ginger – 1 tsp (optional)
Oil – 3 tablespoons
Channa dal – 2 teaspoons
Split Urad dal – 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Dried red chillies – 1
Procedure :
On Saute ,
Add : Oil, When Oil is hot ,
Add : Channa dal ,Split Urad dal,Mustard seeds,Cumin seeds,Dried red chillies
– Saute till channa dal turn light brown ,
Add :
Curry leaves
Green chillies
– Just saute for 10 seconds
Add : Water , Salt
– Check Salt
Add :
Moong dal
Idli Rava flour
– Mix Well
Cancel Saute
Close the lid and seal the venting position
Pressure Cook (or) Manual – 3 minutes
Pressure – HIGH
Release – Wait for 3 minutes , then Release
( or natural release)
Open the lid and mix before serving
