1 ½ cup dry black eyed peas (soak in water for 3 hours)
2 medium size tomatoes
1 small piece of ginger
1 tsp minced garlic
3 Tbsp oil
2 tsp cumin
½ tsp turmeric
1 ½ tsp red chili powder (as per needed)
3 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
2 Tbsp of gram flour or chickpea flour ( to thicken the gravy)
1 ½ cup water
chopped cilantro for garnishing
