Extreme Grocery Budget Challenge week 4

You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!

Are you frustrated by rising prices and looking for a way to acquire out of the unhealthy convenience food rut? #extremegrocerybudget

In this series, I’m showing you how to go from zero food in your kitchen (I’m assuming you have access to water) and still feed your family for less than $10 a week while slowly building up a pantry that will save you money in the future.

This is week four of my extreme grocery budget challenge. This video shares what we have left from last week, what we bought, how to make the week’s meals, and what ingredients are leftover.

Join me one more time to wrap up this series with some answers to common questions, what I learned from doing it, and how it has affected what I’ll do in the future.

This week’s recipes:
tortillas:
4 C flour
6 T oil
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 C water

sourdough: (check out my Instagram for more directions)
100g ripe starter
475g flour
325g water
10g salt (2tsp)

A few things to note: I am factoring every ingredient and it’s cost to acquire from my local (small) Walmart, but I am making a few substitutions for things I already have or acquire regularly from local small businesses. My family actually ate these meals, but in an effort to release videos faster (and to not interfere with previously made commitments that won’t fit in this budget), we didn’t do all of the repeats (I factored out ingredients for any skipped repeats based on the use and consumption of the previous time eating the meal).
