HOMEMADE AUTHENTIC MEXICAN TAMALES ***cooking in my instant pot***



You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯


But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!


what you will you need:

maseca
lard
guajillo peppers
corn husks
what ever meat you choose to add already cooked

how to prepare:

1 Cook your meat then shred it

2 Soak corn husks in warm water

3 Boil guajillo peppers then blend them in a blender with a little water strain them in a colander so you acquire all the pepper out and you only have liquid in your cup

4 make you maseca. you can begin with two cups add a little of your guajillo pepper sauce then add water very slowly and two tablespoons of lard mix until you have a soft dough

5 put maseca on your corn husks. I use a tortilla press

6 put meat in your corn husks and close them

7 put in instant pot on the trivet with one cup of water and set for 60 minutes/1 hour.

8 When done fast release instant pot
