How to Cook a Steak in the Instant Pot

You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!

In this simple cooking video, I cook a beef rib steak in my Instant Pot Ultra 60 electric pressure cooker. I salted the steak the night before and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight. Then I put some avocado oil in the bottom of the Instant Pot and preheated it on the high saute setting. When the pot was hot I cooked the steak for 5 minutes on the first side and 3 1/2 minutes on side 2. I also seasoned the steak with Johnny’s Seasoned Pepper after I turned it over.
