Instant Pot Barbecue Bean Recipe (Vegan)

But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.
Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!

Vegan Instant Pot BBQ Beans:
2 Lb. dried beans (Navy, Pinto, Black, Great Northern, etc.) soaked at least 8 hours, drained (or 6 cans beans rinsed)
2/3 C brown sugar
2/3 C molasses
1/2 C ketchup
1/4 C mustard
2 Tbl Liquid Aminos
1 Tsp Liquid Smoke
2 Tbl Smoked Paprika
1 Tsp black pepper
1 Tsp garlic powder
1/2 Tsp Chipotle powder
1/2 Tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 Tsp salt
2 C vegetable broth
2 Tbl balsamic or apple cider vinegar
1-2 chopped onions
Combine all ingredients in crock pot cook on low for at least 8 hours. For instant pot, high pressure for 40 minutes. For instant pot, be sure beans are covered with liquid. When in doubt add more vegetable broth. When done cooking if you want sauce a little thicker, stir in arrowroot powder 1 Tbl at a time.
