Instant Pot Creme Brulee



You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯


But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!

RECIPE:

In big mixing bowl:
Separate 6 egg yolks
Add 6 tbsp of sugar. Mix well.

In saucepan:
Add in 2 cups of heavy cream,
Add 1 ¼ tsp of vanilla extract
Add a pinch salt
Warm on medium heat for 5 mins. Stir well.
Pour small amounts of cream mix into mixing bowl. Mix well.
Pour into mason jars until 85% – 90% full.
Cover mason jars. do not over tighten. (Finger tight only).

Instant Pot:
Add 2 cups of water and put rack in Instant Pot.
Pressure Cook at Low Pressure for 13 minutes.
Natural Release for 15 minutes. Then, release remaining pressure and open lid
Once the mason jars have cooled down, refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Sugar Top:
Add 2 tsp of sugar in a nonstick pan.
Melt on high heat. Once sugar starts melting, pour on top of cream custard. Let it harden.
