Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Golden Mushroom Beef Stew

You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!

Since it’s cold outside, I wanted to try a hardy stew. I found a recipe online for a Golden Mushroom Beef Stew and wanted to try it in my Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker. I love a excellent beef stew with some vegetables in the winter but I know it takes time for chuck stew meat to cook. With the Instant Pot, it only took 15-20 minutes to prep and about an hour to cook. The best part was being able to walk away without worrying about the stove being unattended.

Here are the ingredients I used:

– 2 tablespoons canola oil
– 1 1⁄2 lbs stew meat
– 1 big onion, cut up
– 2 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
– 3 red potatoes, cut into chunks
– salt & pepper (to taste)
– 1-2 teaspoon dried parsley
– 8-12 white button mushrooms, rinsed and halved
– 1 can (10 oz) condensed golden mushroom soup
– 10-20 oz of water
– 1-2 beef bouillon cube (optional)

Using the portions above I made a excellent amount. I put them into airtight glass containers and froze them for simple meals later on. To reheat, just bring back to a boil over the stove. Be sure to stir so it doesn’t burn or stick.

I’m making these videos so I can remind myself how I made the recipe. I figure I’m going to try everything and forget what I did previously. I hope they assist you as well.
