Instant Pot Whole Oat Groats

You’ve probably heard of the Instant Pot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But these simple & easy to follow recipes work with any pressure cooker! All pressure cookers work on the same, simple principle: Steam pressure.

Within the sealed pot, the steam builds up therein to a very high pressure, which helps food cook much faster than other traditional methods, such as with crock pots and or ovens!

Instant pot whole oat groats! (Sorry about calling them steel cut oats and beans and everything BUT whole oat groats in the video!)

3 cups of groats to 10 cups of water.
Or 3 cups of steel cut oats to 11 cups of water.
Cook 11 min, natural release, let sit a couple hours with the lid on.

You can also use the timer and let them cook in the night so they’re ready for breakfast. Time them to begin about 3 hours before you want to eat them.

Sometimes I love more gravy in my whole oat groats, so I stir in another 2c of water at the stop, and then jar them up into seven 2c mason jars. They re-thicken as they cool.
